The Equinox

The equinox escaped its box
And winter’s on the way
Though days are hot they say it’s not
A sign the sun will stay
The nights get short they change our sport
No cricket left to see
The birds migrate or put on weight
There’s “Strictly” on TV
The year gets old and trees turn gold
The hemlines start to fall
When beauties hide I can’t abide
The equinox at all!

Author notes

Actually I rather like Autumn but what’s the point of applying for a poetic licence if you don’t use it from time to time
