Cold Winter Sunshine

Cold winter sunshine warms my heart
The breezes tease my mind
The seasons can’t keep us apart
Nor freeze leave us behind
I’m here you’re there but where it’s true
I’m always standing next to you

Cold winter sunshine spreads pure gold
On bare and lifeless trees
And safely nestled in our fold
You’re cuddled on my knees
So far away yet always near
I close my eyes and you are here

Cold winter sunshine’s promise grows
As nights begin to wane
Though every day more summer shows
More frozen nights remain
And through them all dreams will be
A future filled with you and me
