Wilde Ways

The ringing chains of mediocrity
Hang heavy from the hearts of many men
Too few have learned the way to canter free
Is set your heart to dreaming once again

The dreary drudge makes little of his day
He holds no torch for falling sparks to light
But some of us have found a better way
Our dreams turn day to more exciting night

You have to choose, to sleep or come alive
To grab a life or let it pass you by
The only way for spirits to survive
Is leave the ground and walk into the sky

You do not need to fight against the tide
As long as you keep swimming deep inside

Author notes

“we are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars”

~ Oscar Wilde ~
