Twenty two

Your twenty-first birthday we’re having fun
We don’t leave the party until half past one
Our night together has hardly begun
The clock never got to two

Hurrying home on this perfect night
Our emotions so heavy our mood so light
All in the world is now perfectly right
The clock never got to two

I didn’t see him, I just hit the brake
Then I lost control and we started to snake
I must pay each day for my stupid mistake
The clock never got to two

For just a few drinks I murdered you
You’ll never be twenty two
