Through the windows

I sit across the table as we eat
Unblinking eyes that swallow me complete
And rivet me unmoving to my seat
I see inside the windows to your mind

We speak of love and other things we know
And never let our real feelings show
And soon the time has come that you must go
You’ll take away the windows to your mind

I know that we will never be as one
Consummation will remain a deed undone
I only want you for much more than fun
I see inside the windows to your mind

Our love is written deep inside I find
When I gaze into the windows to your mind.

Author notes

triplet sonnet, I like them, I hope you do too.
