Sky blue pink and flecked with gold,
The London sky tonight
All my hopes are writ so bold
In mother nature’s write

You can’t see my perfect sky
But I see you in mine
All my dreams spread out on high
In winter day’s decline

Dusk approaches soft and dark
In heavy velvet hue
A view across a city park
But not a sight of you

Stars erupt on every side
As purple turns to black
The time approaches to decide
Advance or turn life back

As I cross the park, the light
Floods out across the scene
Washes out my sad dark night
And leaves me stuck between

Love that was or love to be
If love will ever stay
London’s lights are telling me
But what I cannot say
