A shopping list

A dozen roses by the door
A special gift left on the floor
A token of a fond amour
To leave your lover

A box of chocolates late at night
A secret message out of sight
A kiss when turning out the light
All for your lover

A hope of love that lasts so long
A heart that bursts with splendid song
A knowledge you can do no wrong
You’re with your lover

A life that’s lived without despair
A love that grows the more you care
A need more deep than food or air
You have a lover

A dream that this is all there’ll be
A truth in everything you see
A single being you and me
I am your lover
