It wasn’t that he wanted to
He’d sooner be elsewhere
The awful things we have to do
The crosses that we bear

Alone inside that cemetery
A tear rolls down his cheek
He thought a lot of poetry
Had not the strength to speak

He could not stand beside the grave
Nor see them fill it in
He simply was not quite that brave
A fight he could not win

The tiny body put away
Was not his little Art
For Art is still alive at play
And buried in his heart

Author notes

There is no Art it is just a poem.
