My messengers

I told the sun to take my love to you
Before he kissed you on the cheek today
Whatever else he felt that he must do
There were three words I wanted him to say
Then later on I whispered to the moon
She knows what she must say when she is there
She’ll be across the ocean very soon
With words to show my lover that I care
It isn’t hard to bridge a gap of miles
Just listen to the words the sun can sing
The moon will paint your sky with all my smiles
And think of all the love the stars can bring
The sun and moon are there for you and me
My messengers of love in poetry
