The milky way

One hundred thousand light-years side to side
One hundred billion stars are crammed inside
Round one of them six billion people hide
The milky way is home to you and me

A massive black hole tries to pull us in
In many billion years it may well win
That’s time enough for us to live in sin
The milky way is home to you and me

There is a little point we could discuss
Although this seems so very large to us
In all the universe they make no fuss
The milky way is home to you and me

We cannot comprehend how small we are
Compared to travel to the nearest star
I know that I shall never go that far
The milky way is home to you and me
