The silver ray that starts the day
Has lit the morning’s fuse
The world will play the song birds lay
The music that renews

Before the light can end the night
There come these final words
The poets write “To greet the light
We’ll leave it to the birds”

Author notes

Not really a whole poem, scribbled in bed last night, and tidied this morning
