Until that dawn

Each night in bed I hold you in my arms
You whisper reassurance to my mind
I stop to gaze at all your precious charms
The greatest gift that any man could find
The sparkle of your eyes that sends me sleep
The feeling of your hands caressing me
Inside my darkest secrets you can creep
I haven’t any thoughts you do not see
Sweet lady you have given me today
Tomorrow and the rest of life, who knows
I only know that you have let me play
Your influence upon me clearly shows
I’m waiting for that dawn of burnished gold
When you, my love, are really here to hold.

Author notes

Another soppy sonnet, who’da-thunk-it.
