Rivals!

They met before she knew what love was for
He wanted her to think that he was cool
The ruler of the local swimming pool
And after that he’d show he knew the score
He thought she liked a rival swimmer more
So Brad set out to make him look a fool
Since Dave was going to another school
Humiliation’s part of love and war

Young Brad devised a clever little game
To bring this challenge to a crashing stop
He called Dave’s perfect dive a little tame
Then climbed the diving ladder to the top
But as he jumped he heard Dave call his name
Distracted he performed a belly flop!
