Before and after

You roll away the clouds that fill my sky
And paint my mind with shining drops of dew.
You whisper and I know that I can fly;
What is the point of life without a you?
You make me think of kissing in the rain,
Of rainbow hues and technicolor dreams,
Of secrets down a lonely country lane
And building little dams in mountain streams.
Before I knew your name was life the same?
Did blackbirds sing to tell the sun to rise?
I can’t remember if I knew the game
Before I found the answer in your eyes.
    Although my life will go on as before,
    It’s better when there’s someone to adore.
