It’s not easy being perfect

I do myself no favours
The way I hide my light
When you are as great as I am
Diffidence ain’t right
I cannot understand it
How a girl resists my charms
I’m such a perfect person
They should be rushing to my arms
There is a girl I love a lot
I should do, she’s my wife
But I could also be surrounded
By the finer things in life
Perhaps I should do something
To try to catch the eye
But I’m not sure I’m up to it
I’m so modest and so shy!

Author notes

One or two people have alleged that by walking around town in the liveliest waistcoats seen outside a circus and with a scrolling badge proclaiming my advice to the world that I cannot claim to be shy, what do they know!
