Another night I have to sleep alone
No lips to kiss to send the day to bed
I cannot wrap my arms around my own
Just have to dream that I was there instead

It’s hard to be alone when someone’s there
When they are there but not in love with you
My mind cannot accept the bed I share
Without the love that phrase should lead me to

I’ll sleep tonight with memories and dreams
The way I’ve slept alone for many years
Nobody is disturbed by silent screams
No pillows are awash with hidden tears

I share my bed so I hear every snore
But love should surely mean a whole lot more
