What Humpty was before the fall
An Easter gift from Auntie Peg
A Bluetit’s one is very small
I think the answer is an egg
A breakfast treat that’s served with toast
A chocolate one makes children beg
The layer makes a Sunday roast
I think the answer is an egg
The riddle is an ancient one
For answers I won’t make you beg
I hope you find my poem fun
I think the answer is an egg
What Humpty was before the fall
I think the answer is an egg

In marble walls as white as milk
Lined with skin as soft as silk
Within a fountain crystal clear
A golden apple doth appear
No doors there are to this strong hold
Yet thieves break in and steal the gold
