I live alone unwanted as a man
And yet remain a father and a friend
I keep my mood as buoyant as I can
Since she won’t talk the sadness cannot end

From months to years I tried and got rebuffed
And threw myself at work to fill the space
I want to tell the world to “Go get stuffed”
But cannot find the words with proper grace

A bed each night should fill with passions roar
With sleep a last reward while tightly wrapped
It’s hard when all I hear’s a mighty snore
The link of love and lust completely snapped

I cannot leave and so remain behind
Until I find a way to speak my mind
