On perfect summer’s days like this
When birds appear to taunt the sky
Where butterflies and bees make sport
There’s peace for all who dare to see.
When all around the grass is green
And trees are dancing in the breeze
When children know the world is theirs
The summer gives her gift to all
I’m sitting by a passion flower
That fills the air with flying bugs
I’m dreaming of a perfect state
A perfect future makes me smile
I’m writing verse to let you see
Why England means the world to me
