When life is torn apart by evil men
Invisible repairs cannot be made
You cannot ever build yourself again
A life is not a record to be played

You lock away the beauty that you lost
And run to find a place to hide and grow
Your life goes on when you can meet the cost
You find a face that you can put on show

But deep inside the love will always stay
A gem that isn’t dimmed by use or age
The little bit of sadness every day
The footnote at the end of every page

Your friends can help but they cannot be you
Just hold your hand in everything you do
