Silver chains

Tonight the moon has kissed me on the lips
And told me that she’ll see you as she flies
She’ll bathe you in the moonbeams that she drips
And see the poetry that’s in your eyes

I’ve never know the Moon to utter lies
And so I know she sees you on her trips
I’ve asked the radiant ruler of the skies
To hold you in her tender finger tips

The night was made for telling tales of love
The Moon herself has loved a time or two
And while this perfect lady is above
There’s room on Earth for me to fall for you

The silver chains of light the Moon can see
Are meant to bind you evermore to me
