Sweet wine

A glass of Madeira to help me to think
Of all of the love that I hold in my heart
I’m sitting and smiling and holding my drink
And dreaming the ocean can’t hold us apart
The thoughts that confound me are clouding my mind
I wonder where thinking can possibly start
    I struggle for meanings I know I can’t find
And dream that the ocean can’t hold us apart
But what does it matter the dream’s in the wine
And love is the essence of everyone’s art
I’m musing and drinking and holding what’s mine
While dreaming the ocean can’t hold us apart
A glass of Madeira to help me to think
A wish that the ocean won’t hold us apart
