A rose a day

Each day she found a rose outside the door
On Monday it was whiter than a swan
She loved the yellow Tuesday rose much more
With Wednesday’s pink she knew her heart was gone

The Thursday bloom a subtle shade of peach
But who could leave these stems and not be seen
Her perfect knight must be in easy reach
The Friday rose had just a hint of green

On Saturday the day dawned bright and cold
At last she thought she saw him sneak away
The rose was large and shone like polished gold
She’d catch him in the act on the next day

The Sunday bloom was richly deeply red
She caught him and she asked when they’d be wed
