Winter love

We were sitting by the fireside all aglow
Holding hands and reading sonnets to the skies
Then the words were lost in lover’s softest sighs
While the moonlight kissed the treetops crowned with snow

Up above us there were diamonds on show
Singing songs saluting lovers down on Earth
And we cuddled up for all that love was worth
While the moonlight kissed the treetops crowned with snow

When I close my eyes to dream then all I’ll know
Is that you are in my heart and here to stay
I let all the cares and worries slip away
While the moonlight kissed the treetops crowned with snow

We were sitting by the fireside all aglow
While the moonlight kissed the treetops crowned with snow

Author notes

Well it isn’t quite another echo sonnet because the lines aren’t ten syllables, but it makes a lovely sound
