The world is white beneath the shining snow,
The truth is lost in beauty everywhere.
What’s left is all we really need to know,
The secrets underneath aren’t ours to share.

The air is clean and silence fills the breeze,
A peace descends on all who stand and look.
For just a while the world can rest at ease
And contemplate these pictures in the book.

In winter snows I see the world anew;
A canvas waiting for the artist’s hand.
Have I the art to paint myself with you –
A picture of the life my heart has planned?

A gentle pause for all of life on Earth
To gather strength to face the spring’s rebirth.
