Late January Sun

i

A soft blue blanket lies gently over London
quiet trees stand naked in sunlight
waiting proudly for the spring-time

ii

The robin cannot wait and dances
puffed up and boastful advertising
in the classified section of the garden

iii

A large tabby cat eyes the robin
he has been waiting to catch him
for days now, patient and pointless

iv

next door
three dachshunds and a toddler
don’t care about the season
sunshine means chasing round the garden
