Our Spring

The crocuses erupted on the lawn
Forgetful of the snow a week ago
The blackbird started singing with the dawn
And all around the garden starts to grow

In mauve and white they seem to start the Spring
These gentle colours shout to wake the world
So soon new hope will spread to everything
As slowly nature’s promise is unfurled

And what of you, my love, will you be here.
To warm me as the sun will warm the Earth?
Inside my heart I feel you very near,
A feeling that alone gives days their worth.

You raise my dreams as springtime nurtures flowers
And in my dreams the spring is always ours
