When Darkness Falls

The sounds you hear are only in your head
There isn’t such a thing as walking dead
And nothing evil lurks beneath the bed
When darkness falls

The face you saw was never really there
A shadow on the wall can never stare
So why is there a shiver to your hair
When darkness falls

You won’t be killed by men you cannot see
A stalker doesn’t lurk behind each tree
And monsters aren’t around to wander free
When darkness falls

I know you don’t believe these things I say
You’re brave enough at any time of day
But I know that you’ll always run away
When darkness falls
