In my dreams I felt your footsteps, down the avenues of love,
As you danced beneath the rainbows that were painted high above.
Then I knew the new excitement of the music of your voice
As you laughed across my meadows gaily offering a choice.
We could sit discussing Dickens drinking wine beneath the Moon
Or go rowing with the mermaids in a tropical lagoon.

As each scene dissolves to darkness I can sense you never leave
And your fingers send a message that I’m waiting to receive.
Gentle kisses follow slowly as you show me all you need,
In a haze of raw emotion where my deepest hopes can feed.
Then I hold you with a passion born of all the things I feel
And I wonder if I’m dreaming or if everything is real.

Now I know I shall be waking to a life without your touch;
Until sleep once more can take me to the dreams I love so much.
