Starry Night by Vincent van Goch

The genius that saw this starry night
Created dreams from nightmares all around.
He looked inside and painted all he found,
Explored for us the magic in the light.
      His painting was his one escape from fright,
      A tortured mind that never understood;
      Rewards are rarely given to the good,
      Explored for us the magic in the light.
Now all across the world he’s brought delight
But far too late to save his tortured soul.
A life confined to thoughts as black as coal
Explored for us the magic in the light.
      The genius that saw this starry night
      Explored for us the magic in the light

Author notes

The painting is Van Goch’s starry night, for a better rendering into words listen to Vincent by Don McLean.
