Perhaps

Perhaps I’m doomed to languish under sprinklings of stars
The harps of lovers drowning under amplified guitars
For other men the night-time brings a hope of tender bliss
And passion that’s created in an endless goodnight kiss

The Moon will bring her romance into lives around the world
Her silver strokes of magic see the tightest buds unfurled
Yet I must sleep unwanted far away from where I’d be
If the gods of time consented to rewrite my history

Are there stars above your dreaming seeding longing in your heart
Are the constellations saddened to see lovers far apart
If the World was well constructed would you be here by my side
Or would I be sad and lonely counting tears I almost cried
