Thoughts of you and me

A grey and gloomy cloud may dim the day
But evening falls and everything may change
The dismal mass becomes a bold display
A treasure only nature can arrange

The winds and rain of spring make summer bloom
An ugly duckling turns into a swan
Perhaps it will be my unlikely doom
To shine when all the brighter lights are gone

But other lives are lived at higher pace
Each day a lovely child may still improve
Your beauty puts a smile upon my face
No cloudy day has power to remove

And thoughts of you make any day seem bright
As sunset starts to fill my heart with light
