It’s dark outside

It’s dark outside but I’ve a cup of tea
A dream to dream and thoughts that love to play
I’ve dictionaries and books of poetry
So in my mind I’m many miles away

It’s dark outside, not sunrise on a hill
But Wainwright’s guides are playing with my mind
He paints a view and I can drink my fill
Then turn the page to see what I can find

It’s dark outside, I’m sitting here alone
But you are here beside me all the while
These thoughts and dreams are all I need to own
And no-one’s here to ask me why I smile

It’s dark outside, but I can see the sun
Lets grab some wine and go and have some fun!
