Will you be my moonlit lover?

When the moonlight bathes the beaches will you lay down by my side,
Letting silver light make star-bursts in your hair?
When it’s night time on the island where we run away and hide,
Will you bring a case of kisses we can share?

When you’re draped in gentle moonlight will I feel your tender skin?
Will you hold me as you hold me in our dreams?
When the sun has kissed the ocean and the Moon-time can begin
Will you join me dancing naked in her beams?

I have always loved the Moonlight and the stars that she conducts
Through their journey from the evening into day.
In it’s magical perfection I see all the day abducts,
All the subtle shades that daylight burns away.

Will you be my moonlit lover when the stars consent to shine?
When there’s peace upon our island will you be forever mine?

Prompt: we’ll wrap the moon around us and lay side by side, skin on skin
