Life isn’t just a trip from A to B,
A rolling road’s a better path to take.
Some lay bys offer sights you have to see
While other stops may be a bad mistake.

On Roman roads you see the way ahead
And turning round you see what’s left behind
But I prefer to be less cleanly led,
To visit all the byways of my mind.

I chose a path through woods and over hills,
By riversides that drew me to the sea.
I’ve stopped to look at waterfalls and mills
But none of them seemed sweet as you to me.

The road I’m on is not yet at an end,
Or I’d be standing next to you my friend.
