Waiting for the bus

There were little drops of love
on her fringe
as she sheltered from the rain

A bus-stop
miles from where I wanted to be
and where her faraway smile transported me

Her eyes were your eyes
bright in the darkness
searching for a promise
or
maybe
just the bus.

She smiled your smile at me
silently
but I heard your words
your poetry
your heartbeat

I sat beside you
watching you type
watching her waiting
watching the drips of love
fall one by one
until the bus came.
