The final word

I’m writing this rhyme sat in bed
The words won’t get out of my head
I’m sorry they’re boring
I ought to be snoring
But I’m writing nonsense instead

The night started ages ago
I dozed off so I didn’t know
But in bed and lying
I can’t sleep for trying
And writing may soften the blow

Perhaps I should try counting sheep
They say that’s a good way to sleep
But all of that bleating
Could be self defeating
Count carrots, they don’t make a peep!

The world will go on as it does
My brain will keep filling with fuzz
The fog isn’t lifting
I think I am drifting
And all I can say now is zuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
