It’s Christmas when …

It’s Christmas when the children want to hurry into bed
And wake before the sun decides it’s day
It’s Christmas when a carol runs in rings inside your head
And everyone can think of games to play
It’s Christmas when your loved ones ring to see if you’re alive
It’s Christmas when you want to hear them speak
It’s Christmas when despite yourself you know you will survive
On Turkey, ham and stuffing till next week

Some places it is snowy and in others it is hot
A robin sings or else a parrot squawks
Some folk are pleased to see you and some other folk are not
But no-one loves a Christmas card that talks
It’s Christmas when you think about the year that’s nearly done
It’s Christmas when you smile and look around
It’s Christmas when the smallest thing can be a source of fun
It’s Christmas when the best of you is found
