The Peter Principle

It is not hard to do the things you do
But hard to make some people understand
Their blunderings about without a clue
Can wreck the work that those who know have planned

Unwilling to discover how things work
They push a fools’ agenda to the fore
Dictating other’s lives is one small perk
Enjoyed by those who’ve left the fact’ry floor

In every place where management takes root
You’ll find that some lose sight of proper goals
You know the type, their only true pursuit
Is draining all the joy from other’s souls

Of course the Peter Principle applies,
As sewage workers know, the shit will rise!
