Lazy Sunday Afternoon, NOT!

I’ve just sat down to fill a bloody form
A list of questions I half understand
Outside the day is rather bright and warm
Bureaucracy does not have pleasure planned

A list of questions I half understand
Intrusive facts they cannot need to know
Bureaucracy does not have pleasure planned
They should have sent this form out in the snow

Intrusive facts they cannot need to know
The stock in trade of civil service minds
They should have sent this form out in the snow
When they were busy sat on their behinds

The stock in trade of civil service minds
The database no-one will ever read
When they were busy sat on their behinds
The rest of us were getting up to speed

The database no-one will ever read
With every little detail they can get
The rest of us were getting up to speed
Until their red-tape jelly trap had set

With every little detail they can get
They sap the will of those who would resist
Until their red-tape jelly trap had set
We though it wasn’t fog just morning mist

They sap the will of those who would resist
So dull and grey they damp out every spark
We though it wasn’t fog just morning mist
Inside this world is permanently dark

So dull and grey they damp out every spark
Outside the day is rather bright and warm
Inside this world is permanently dark
I’ve just sat down to fill a bloody form
