You cannot know the beauty of this Earth
Unless you’ve seen these islands in the Spring;
When daffodils make gold for all they’re worth
And bluebells teach the woods the way to ring.

Or give your heart to Summer in these lands,
To dancing streams on hills you yearn to climb.
With clouds of sheep meandering in bands
While hidden lakes appear to pass the time.

In Autumn there are apples everywhere,
One thousand different kinds to tempt and tease,
Crisp, golden leaves dance polkas through the air
And swirling mists put nature at her ease.

Then even Winter’s snows are sweeter here,
These British Isles are beautiful all year.
