A Fatal Disease

The fear of words that actually rhyme
A strange affliction all too common here
Aversion to the art of keeping time
The fear of words that actually rhyme
Regarding them as literary crime
Some poets dread is pitifully clear
The fear of words that actually rhyme
A strange affliction all too common here

We’re fortunate that there’s a simple cure
Just sit them down and read them Shakespeare’s verse
Against its charms no phobias endure
We’re fortunate that there’s a simple cure
It won’t be long before their minds are pure
But you must rush or they’ll be getting worse
We’re fortunate that there’s a simple cure
Just sit them down and read them Shakespeare’s verse

Author notes

I don’t often write triolets, too much repeating for me
