I’ll be there when the time for dreams is over
When all that’s left’s the truth of you and me
When we have both consumed the final clover
I’ll still be lost in love for what I see

I’ll hold you when our suns have finished setting
And night encroaches on our final days
Some scenes in life are far beyond forgetting
And we’ve appeared in all the greatest plays

But don’t suppose that I’m content with waiting
For shortened days to bring you back to bed
I’ll spend my harvest days in contemplating
A perfect plan to have my passions fed

You’ll always be the object of my schemes
The present and the future of my dreams
