Bleedin’ Freezin’!

With gently blowing breezes giving happy birds a lift
The Spring is filled with beauty, every perfect bud’s a gift,
We’d walk along the tow-path set the rest of life adrift
But Bloody Hell today is Bleedin’ Freezin’!

The blue above supporting friendly wisps of cotton wool
Past fields and bluebelled woodlands, till you gave an urgent pull
To join you in a meadow (after checking for a bull)
But Bloody Hell today is Bleedin’ Freezin’!

A picnic on a blanket then a laze beneath the sun
Drinking wine and sharing doughnuts when the major eating’s done
Before I start to kiss you in an afternoon of fun
But Bloody Hell today is Bleedin’ Freezin’!

For the Summer and the Autumn I can paint the scene the same
I’ll live through any weather if you’ll join me in the game
But now we’re into winter and I think it’s such a shame
Instead of loving you I’m BLEEDIN’ FREEZIN’!!!
