The Ritual

If you don’t know by now then you bloody well ought-ter
First fill up the kettle with freshly drawn water
Before it’s reached boiling, but pretty darned hot
You pour out a little to warm up the pot
Now put in your tea-leaves please choose a good blend
For me PG’s perfect, so try that my friend
Each mug needs a spoonful, the pot gets one too
Then add boiling water and leave it to brew
Please put milk in first though some folk disagree
And like the cooked proteins to flavour their tea
I’ll add my own sugar there’s biscuits to dunk
And nothing needs doing till all of it’s drunk

A short interlude will ensue until when
It’s time to get cracking and brew up again!
