My True Love!

Can you hear my tummy rumble?
That’s because there’s apple crumble —
Sitting waiting to be eaten in a bowl,
And I’m keen as English mustard
On the jug of yellow custard
That will join the crumble nourishing my soul.

There is not a lot that’s finer,
For the most discerning diner,
Than a dish of such unfussy savoir faire;
So I’ll leave you now to eat it,
Writing foolish rhymes can’t beat it,
Please hurry round, I’m saving you a share!
