Looking Forward

It’s hardly my fault if my language turns florid
I’m walking to work and the weather is horrid
It rains on my hair and then runs down my for’ed
I wish I was still in my bed

I doubt I’ll be met by a warm friendly greeting
From colleagues and bosses who think I need treating
There’s rather more chance that I’m late for a meeting
My schedule’s gone out of my head

Some projects I’m tied to are heading for crunch time
But short term disasters are certain to munch time
Still I’m heading home pretty soon after lunchtime
To do something more fun instead

It seems there’s an answer to regular sorrow
There’s something called life that I think I can borrow
I’m gonna stay home for a lie-in tomorrow
A morning asleep in my bed!
