On Summer days

On Summer days the girls are on parade
In tiny skirts designed to tempt and tease
The ancient game each generation’s played
On Summer days

Along a path beneath the shady trees
Blonde tresses toss and countless hips are swayed
Unsubtle notes discarded on the breeze

And foolish boys enjoy the cavalcade
While acting cool appearing ill at ease
Each eager eye selects a likely maid
On Summer days
