The People Whisperer

Have you ever watched a robin training people
In time they can perform quite complex tricks
He’ll hop around and fuss until a cheep’ll
Produce some biscuit crumbs to feed his chicks

The blackbirds and the pigeons all admire him
And wait to share his tasty ill-got gains
The local lady robins must desire him
I’m sure that is the object of his pains

Then later on he’ll supervise the digging
When gardeners go out to hunt for worms
The earth is turned and he’ll be in there pigging
He loves a bite of anything that squirms

Throughout the avian world he’s justly famed
Whoever thought a human could be tamed!
