Your book

Just waiting
While you slowly read the last chapter
Teasing me
I see your grin
You are waiting too
But waiting is good
You turn a page
And turn back
I look at your naked breast and wait.
Another page, I study the shape of your chin
You flick your tongue over your lips
Stretched on my pillow I see you read
Just waiting
Eventually you close your book
Turn off the light
We are turned on…

Author notes

I have no idea if that is any good, I never write free verse, this just sort of happened. Maybe I’ll write a version I’d read!

Here is the rhyming version. I’d love to know how they compare in other people’s eyes.
